Rappelling in Rio de Janeiro Brazil

Rappelling is a very safe activity, and can be done by anyone in good shape. It is the act of lowering oneself using a rope. It is actually considered a climbing technique instead of a sport. With the use of climbing ropes and safety gear, you will learn how to lower yourself from a cliff, a mountain or even a bridge. The only thing you need is some amount of courage.

Rappelling in Pedra do Urubu

Just 20 minutes from Copacabana, near Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, we find the Pedra do Urubu, an imposing stone standing 130 meters high, with views of the whole laggon, Ipanema, Corcovado and Leblon. After hiking for about 15 minutes through a beautiful trail, we reach the stone where  an unforgettable 30 meters of altitude (164 feet) rappel awaits you. And after that, a refreshing sea bath in clear waters.
